Round 6 and 7

Finally after wanting him for three rounds, the Vikings took CJ Moseley out of Missouri in their best pick of the whole entire draft as far as value goes. Then the Vikings took a player way off the board in Adrian Ward of UTEP in the 7th round. Ward is about 5-91/2, 170 a converted safety that was an all-Wac selection. Mel Kiper' Jr desrcibes his value on special teams and as a player with dime-back potential. I can't find a scouting report on him from Scouts, INC or Pro Football Weekly. Ward has good speed 4.35, good quickness and the 391/2 vertical jump.Ward isn't the most physical corner. Moseley though has good size at 6'2 315, he had 10 sacks I believe for Missouri last year, showing great explosivenss for a player of his size. Has great range for his size. Takes good angles and can close on the ball. He can collaspe the pocket, and came out as an early entry player. Lack of effort, poor hand use on running plays, gap discipline and ability to beat the double teams are holding him back. So he does need to improve at areas, but with his burst and size he has the ability to be a back-up nose tackle, and eventually develop into a starter. So a couple of very good pick and an intriguing pick in rounds 6-7.
