Tarvaris Jackson

I thought Jackson would be a 4th round pick. Yet the Vikings traded both 3rds to get him at the end of the 2nd. Jackson I saw as more of a second day prospect, due to his need of a couple years of development to compete for an NFL starting QB job.

Jackson does have possibly the best arm of any QB in the draft, and he can move pretty well in the pocket. He has decent accuracy. He threw 29 TD's and 5 Int's this last year. Good build, and has become a hard worker that wants to improve.

His weaknesses include foot work, field vision, and reading Defenses although Ron Jaworski pointed out he was impressed by his abilty in this area at the D 2 Level. Needs to throw more consistently.

Jackson could become a quality NFL QB with good coaching, but is probably 2 years away.
