Chad Greenway-Number 17 pick

This wasn't too suprising. They needed a LB way more than a DB. I talked about Greenway here http://mnvikingsfootball.blogspot.com/2006/04/sims-vs-greenway.html. Greenway being the best coverage LB in the draft, helps fill a huge need for the Vikings. He projects as a starter next year. Greenway has very fluid hips for a LB, and very good coverage skills. Peter King of CNNSI has spoken to a few scouts who like Greenway better than the Packers AJ Hawk, due to the consistency of his tackling skills. Nolan Naworcki says he could be an all-pro with good coaching. Greenway will need to improve his weight-room strength.
Analysis: Looking at who was on the board, and thier need for LB's who can cover. Greenway was a solid pick. They could have gotten creative and gone with Antonio Cromartie DB-Flordia State, or Deangelo Williams-RB Memphis. But this was a need pick with a solid value. Greenway will be a solid pro.
