Best Places to look for draft information
National
1. Dr. Z (Paul Zimmerman) on CNNSI.Com-This guy is the best football guy in the country, he breaks down game tape like no one else, with great connections in the business. His mock will come out right before the draft, read it. Or Go to your library and copy it from SI.
2. Scouts,INC-These guys do a terrific job of scouting, and if you get their info on ESPN insider, read it.
3. Mel Kiper,JR.-He's opinionated, and you here more of him than anyone else. He gives good insight too. For instance in 2001 he raved about Deuce McAllister, when everyone else thought he would be an injury-prone bust.
4. Nolan Naworcki-Pro Football Weekly-Their Draft Preview-I have already stopped in at 4 stores looking to buy, but it must not be out yet. He's not as good as the legendary Joel Buschbaum, who he replaced, but they have best football writing staff in the Business.
5. Don Banks-CNNSI-Best connections to the Vikings of any national scribe.
CBS Sportline-I don't find to be too good. Dan Pompei isn't too bad, but not as good as up here. Len Pasquerli is a good writer, but not a draft analyst. John Clayton can maybe give you a few good tips before the draft. I have also been told to look at the work of Rich Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News.
Local
1. www.kfan.com- Tom Pelisareo is probably the most connected guy to the team, due to his extensive time spent out there.
2. Kevin Seifert of the Minneapolis Star Tribune- I give him a slight edge over Sean Jensen of the Pioneer Press, just for amount of information that he gets out.
3. www.vikings.scouts.com-or www.vikingupdate.com- The official newsletter of the team, reports what they want you know, and hides what they don't. Still a good resource.
